Help Abyssinia Honor Tedla Abraham's Legacy
Donation protected
On July 29th 2025, one month shy of Abyssinia's 30 year anniversary, Abyssinia unexpectedly lost our beloved owner, Tedla Abraham.
Tedla is survived by his wife, and the chef of Abyssinia, Addis, their two sons, three grandchildren, many family members, and the community at large.
If you've ever been to Abyssinia, you've likely met Tedla-- maybe you even shared a few laughs while he bought you a drink!
Tedla was and will always be a pillar of our community. As a business man, he worked hard to support his family and to share Addis' delicious food, always while generous and kind to his staff and patrons.
He never wanted to close the restaurant (we are open 365 days a year!) and many of y'all have been asking how you can help! Coming in to share a memory over a drink and a meal is a great support. If you are able to contribute beyond continuing to eat and drink with us, any additional financial support will help the family with unexpected funeral costs.
Whether or not you can financially contribute, please send to your community who may! We would also love if those who have fond memories and/or photos of Tedla share them below ♡
Thank you so much for your support and care during this difficult time.
