As a result of the ongoing war in Sudan since April 15, 2023, many families were displaced in Sudan, especially in the region of Al-Jazeera State in central Sudan, which had a great impact on most of the citizens of the state by killing, displacement, and rape, as people fled to save their lives from the oppression of this militia that took control of the region.
The five-year-old child Abulgasim Ataf al-Bashir was one of the victims of this war, as he was displaced from his home in the village where he lives with his mother and his three-year-old sister on foot for a four-day march in temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. They suffered all the hardships that a child his age cannot endure: thirst, lack of food, sleep, or rest. As a result of this suffering, the child entered into convulsions and fainting due to the high temperatures and dehydration caused by the lack of fluids or food, which caused him to contract meningitis and enter a state of coma.
