Hello! My name is Melissa, and I'm raising money on behalf of my close friend, Mahmoud Abu Hussein, (Abu Anas).

He is wanting to raise money to start the process of rebuilding their lives, and for their survival.

Evacuation is difficult for his family, as they are trapped in the North, and travel is very dangerous. If they are able to safely find travel to the South, they do hope to evacuate.

Mahmoud is married, with 5 beautiful children.

Previously, they had a beautiful family home, filled with love and so many memories.

Life now, looks completely different.

His brother was martyred, and his home was completely destroyed.

Their focus has now shifted from the hopes and dreams they once had. Currently their only focus is survival.

Instead of sleeping safe in a bed at night, they are forced to seek shelter wherever they can, sleeping in a stairwell.

And yet.

He continues to smile, and have hope. His unwavering faith in God is humbling.

He is constantly giving of himself to others, and finding ways to help those around him.

Currently, food in the North is scarce, and very, very expensive. Our goal in raising money, (if evacuation continues to not be an option) is to help him and his family start the process of rebuilding their lives and developing some sense or normalcy. We also hope to provide funds for food, in hopes that he does not have to continue to risk his life for air dropped aid.
