Help Abri with complications from childhood Cancer
Donation protected
Hello friends, I have a dear friend that has a daughter that beat childhood cancer after a few years battling it. She lost her leg from the knee down a few years back. She was in remission and speaking at childhood cancer events across the US for 3 + years. 22 months ago she started having excruciating stomach pain every time she ate. Even eating something as small as a single pea send her into so much pain she would pass out from the pain. 10 months no food or water kept her on picc line and feeding tube. 7 hospitals in this medial Odyssey searching for answers has revealed nerve problem in the abdomen from an unknown origin. Hey have been in Michigan under Rod’s brother - Ryan Bentley’s incredible medical care, including hyperbaric chamber daily. He has taken Abri from an invalid in a hospital bed suffering when conscious on stacks of meds to walking and eating small amounts without a tube or picc line. They are working to get the bowels working on their own again and to get the pain that causes her to pass out (limited to when she eats a normal amount or vibration from riding in a car) under control. The company that Rod works for compassionately supported him and his family by allowing him to work remotely for reduced pay so he could maintain his insurance. Almost all protocols and methods that are now employed are out of the scope of insurance coverage and comes out of pocket. The pain clinic in Texas previously mentioned in the original post has equipment that may help to relieve pain. Just one of the laser devices is over $8,000 and hope this will resolve the debilitating pain. I set up this GoFundMe without them knowing to try and raise 50K. The money will be used so she can try this last ditch effort at a place that has had great success treating very similar cases. Thank you in advance and happy new year to all. If you can’t help financially with this please keep the family in your prayers. Her name is Abri. Her tag line that I have used many times is...
