Hello, my name is Abraham Sampior. I am a husband and father doing everything I can to support my family from thousands of miles away.

In November, a powerful typhoon hit the Philippines, where my wife and daughters currently live. Our home was badly damaged—the roof was torn apart and is now only temporarily tied down. Water leaks through the ceiling, the walls are cracked, several windows are broken, and some of our personal belongings were stolen during the aftermath.

My family is living every day under a leaking roof with ongoing water damage. I work 16–18 hour days here in the United States, but no matter how hard I work, it’s not enough to keep up with the growing repairs, daily living expenses, and my children’s basic needs.

For years, we have been fighting to be together as a family. Immigration delays, political issues, and then the global pandemic forced us to restart the process and wait even longer. Just when we were finally close to being reunited, the typhoon destroyed everything we had saved and worked so hard for.

I always put my family before my own needs, and asking for help is not easy for me. But I am overwhelmed and running out of options.
