Help About a Dog Rescue Society During COVID

The Long and the Short of It
I'm one of those value-driven people who wants to help the good honest hard workers of the world that just need a hand. That's why About a Dog Rescue Society 's struggle during COVID impacted me enough to start a fundraiser for them.  Rather than seeing them run at a severe financial loss or have to close down, I want to raise funds that will see them through until regular flights resume.

The Short Story
About a Dog works tirelessly to give every dog rescued in Puerto Vallarta a healthy and loving home for life. COVID-19's interruption of international travel has not stopped Mike and his team from rescuing dogs, and they now have 60+ dogs with foster families. The pandemic has almost entirely stopped them from being able to get their rescues up to Vancouver within reasonable costs. As a Vancouver-based 100% volunteer-run registered non-profit, they survive on generosity and hard work. Those are two values that the world needs, and rescued dogs deserve. They also give back to their communities, offering free sterilization clinics in Puerto Vallarta as well as supporting and promoting local businesses in Vancouver and PV.
Donate today to help cover the growing medical and transportation costs due to COVID-19.

The "Grab a Cup of Tea and Have a Read" Story
Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography estimated there are about 12.5M street dogs in Mexico, and Puerto Vallarta has its share. About a Dog is dedicated to making free sterilization and careful adoptions happen.  Between the Vancouver and Puerto Vallarta teams, About A Dog ensures rescued street dogs get quality food, training,  and socialization with children, strangers, dogs, cats, ducks and beyond! Their veterinary care includes sterilizing, microchipping, vaccinations, dental cleaning and fully attending to specialized health concerns. They have rescued and treated dogs with cancer, broken bones, stab wounds, infections and more. The dogs live with foster families and not in sterile shelters, so their personalities are allowed to develop and thrive during rescue life. Only when they are ready to fly are matched with a loving home that suits their age, personality, energy levels and needs to special care or support.

Through all this work, About a Dog unwaveringly supports businesses in both locations. From dog trainers and pet supply stores to photographers, they shop local and promote local businesses. Check out their About a Dog on Facebook  or Instagram account  to see the many businesses they support and promote. Also, for every dog rescued, they donate trees to be planted by a re-forestation organization who will plant in areas of BC affected by wildfires and diseases.

Please donate. Every donation no matter how small will help. Share this with your friends, colleagues and family, encouraging them to make a significant difference in the lives of dogs, their foster families and the About a Dog Rescue Society team.
