am Abla Al-Maghrebi from Gaza, the grandmother of two children, Ali and Omar. After they lost their grandfather, my beloved husband, I became the one responsible for taking care of them in these harsh and difficult circumstances. Today we live in a tent that does not protect us from the cold nights nor the scorching heat of the day. Every day I feel helpless as I see my grandchildren crying from hunger and sickness, with no milk, no food, and no medicine for them.

I see their thin bodies and weary faces suffering, and my heart shatters knowing that I can give them nothing but my embrace and my prayers. I have grown old and weak, yet their pain is killing me every moment. I have never asked for anything for myself, but today I beg God and all kind-hearted people to look upon Ali and Omar with mercy. They are innocent children who carry no blame except being born into war, poverty, and deprivation.
