Please help me raise funds to finally get the legal protection and resources my children and I urgently need.
Every share, every donation, every prayer truly matters.
My name is Abigail, and I am a mother fighting every single day to keep my children and myself safe. This is our reality — and how the very system meant to protect victims has failed us again and again.
In September 2024, I went to the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office asking for a permanent protective order. I brought everything I had: photos, messages, hospital records, videos, and proof of ongoing abuse and harassment.
I was turned away.
Not once… but five times.
Each time, I walked out holding my children’s hands, trembling, dismissed, and still unprotected. I was never given a reason. I was told things like:
“I don’t know what you want, but I can’t help you.”
I kept trying. I reached out to prosecutors, courts, and anyone I could. Instead of support, I felt ignored, minimized, and pushed aside.
This week, after pleading directly with District Attorney Terry Palacios, I heard something no mother — no victim — should ever hear:
“I cannot guarantee your safety 100%, Ms. Abigail.”
How is any parent supposed to sleep at night after hearing that?
The individual connected to our case — the person I have reported for repeated violence and threats — remains free. According to the information provided to me, there are serious charges pending, yet there are no protective conditions, and I continue to be contacted. People connected to him have appeared near my family’s homes. We live in constant, paralyzing fear.
I keep asking:
• Where is my protective order?
• Why is my evidence ignored?
• Why are we left unprotected?
• How many times must a mother beg for safety before someone listens?
I have contacted the Texas Rangers, the Board of Judges, Internal Affairs, DPS, the FBI, and multiple media outlets. I keep fighting, but we are still without protection — and I am now seeking outside legal help, victim advocacy support, and resources the system has denied me.
That is why I am creating this GoFundMe.
Not for comfort.
Not for convenience.
But for survival.
For the resources I need to finally obtain legal protection… to keep my children safe… and to make sure that if anything happens to us, the world will know I tried everything.
If you cannot donate, please share.
If you cannot share, please pray for us.
My children deserve safety.
We deserve protection.
We deserve to be heard.
Thank you for seeing us, for believing us, and for helping us continue this fight.
