Help Abigail Heal: Support for a Single Mom & Her Brave Girl
Donation protected
On July 21st, my 7-year-old daughter Abigail fell from her bed, resulting in a traumatic epidural brain bleed. She was rushed into emergency surgery, where doctors successfully removed the clot and stopped the bleeding. While she is now out of the ICU, Abigail remains in the hospital and has a long recovery ahead.
Abigail is no stranger to medical battles. Born at just 26 weeks, she spent the first 14 months of her life in the hospital. Since then, she’s fought her way off a ventilator, had her trach removed, and continues to work hard at feeding and communicating. She still uses a g-tube and requires multiple therapies and appointments to support her progress.
We’ve come a long way—just last year, we took a big step forward by moving out of my father’s house and starting life on our own. I work full-time to support us, but between Abigail’s planned surgery last week and this emergency, I’ve used all of my PTO for the year. While I am protected under FMLA, the time off is now unpaid, and we’re facing a serious financial setback.
We’re asking for help to raise some money to cover our upcoming rent and essential bills, giving me the ability to take time off to focus fully on Abigail’s recovery without risking our housing or stability.
If you’re able to donate, we are incredibly grateful. And if not, sharing this page means just as much.
Thank you for being part of Abigail’s journey—and for helping us hold on during one of the most difficult times we’ve faced yet.
With love and gratitude,
Megan & Abigail
