Growing up in Jamaica, I learned early that education is not just an opportunity—it is a lifeline to possibility. Motivated by my family’s sacrifices and unrealized dreams, I pursued learning to expand my possibilities, break generational limitations, and build a future rooted in purpose and impact. My curiosity for how things function led me to Electrical Engineering, a passion nurtured through hands-on problem-solving with my father. At 17, I left everything familiar behind to study in the United States. Education transformed me from a shy immigrant student into a confident leader and aspiring engineer. I earned my associate degree in Electrical Technology and chose to continue my education, moving away from the family who supported me and now living independently while supporting myself.

However, I am currently unable to register for classes because I cannot afford the tuition. Although I applied for scholarships, I was not awarded one, and opportunities are extremely limited for international students. My parents are just not financially able to assist. Because I am not registered, I have been barred from working my limited-hour on-campus job, leaving me without a reliable source of income and placing my international student status at risk.

Support from this fundraiser will help me pay my tuition, cover essential living expenses, and return to school so I can stay on track toward completing my degree. Every contribution brings me closer to my goal and allows me to continue working toward a future of service, impact, and opportunity. Thank you for believing in me and investing in my future.
