Abigail is my 12-year-old daughter, and she’s been passionate about competition cheer for three years. She’s incredibly talented and dedicated, currently competing on two teams this season. As her father, I do everything I can to support her dreams, even though I’m medically retired and living on a fixed income. While her mother and I are not together, I take care of most of her cheerleading expenses because I believe in her potential and want to see her succeed.
This year, Abigail’s hard work has paid off—both of her teams have won bids to the AllStar World Championships in Orlando, Florida, and a national competition in Myrtle Beach. I’ve managed to book hotel rooms for both events, but the competition fees and food costs are more than I can handle alone. The expenses for these events add up quickly, especially with the length of the competitions and the high cost of food at the venues. Despite these challenges, I’m determined to do everything I can to help Abigail chase her dreams.
Abigail’s journey hasn’t been easy. She’s overcome injuries, including a broken arm that required surgery and a recent ankle injury, but her dedication never wavers. She practices at least four nights a week, sacrificing time with friends to focus on her sport. Cheerleading has taught her discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work—qualities that are rare for someone her age. Attending these competitions is vital for her growth and future in cheer, giving her the chance to showcase her abilities and gain valuable experience. Your support would mean the world to both of us, helping Abigail continue her journey and making her dreams come true.
