Our sister, aunt, and mother Abiga needs our help to receive urgent medical treatment. In January 2025, Abiga began experiencing severe symptoms limiting her eyesight, mobility, and her ability to eat. After visiting various doctors and many medical tests, she was finally diagnosed with a very rare neurological autoimmune illness called “myasthenia gravis.” For two months, she has been taking medications for myasthenia gravis, but with minimal improvement. Unfortunately, this past week, Abiga experienced two myasthenia crises and two hospitalizations. The second crisis caused Abiga’s diaphragm to close, leading to respiratory arrest. She has been in intensive care in Celaya, Guanajuato since May 23. She will remain in intensive care as she receives an alternative and very costly treatment called Plasmapheresis. She will need 3-5 treatments of Plasmapheresis. The cost of each treatment costs $3,157.00 USD (60.000 MX). The total cost of the treatments will likely be over $15,000.00 USD. This total does not include the daily hospitalization cost, three (3) doctor’s fees, or any other treatment she may receive, which must be paid immediately to receive services. We kindly ask friends and family to help Abiga in this difficult time so that she may receive her treatment.

Nuestra hermana, tía y madre Abiga necesita de su ayuda para recibir tratamiento medico urgente. En enero Abiga comenzó a padecer síntomas que limitaban su vista, movilidad y su habilidad de comer. Después de visitar varios doctores y muchos exámenes médicos, fue diagnosticada con miastenia gravis. Miastenia gravis es una enfermedad neurológica muy rara. Después de dos meses de comenzar el medicamento, la enfermedad seguía avanzando. Esta semana pasada, Abiga sufrió dos crisis miasténicas, algo que desconocíamos y que la llevaron al hospital. La segunda crisis le provoco que el diafragma dejara de trabajar lo que le provoco un paro respiratorio que ahora la tiene en terapia intensiva. Permanecerá sedada en terapia intensiva mientras recibe un tratamiento alternativo y muy costo llamado Plasmaferesis. Necesitara entre 3 y 5 tratamientos y cada uno tiene un costo de $60,000 MX ($3,157 USD). La suma total de estos tratamientos llegara a $300,000 MX ($15,000 USD). Además de los tratamientos, también se cobran los gastos de hospitalización y los honorarios de los tres médicos que la estan atendiendo.
