Help Us Provide Warmth and Support to Fire Victims in Aberdeen
On July 22, 2024, a devastating fire swept through a tent encampment in Aberdeen, WA, leaving many of our most vulnerable neighbors without their homes and belongings. This disaster has had a profound impact on the community experiencing homelessness, who are now facing not only the trauma of the fire but also the challenge of enduring harsh weather conditions without proper shelter.
We’re reaching out to you today to help us provide immediate relief to those affected. Our goal is to raise funds to purchase sleeping bags for the fire victims. These sleeping bags will offer crucial warmth and protection as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.
Why Sleeping Bags?
- Immediate Comfort: As temperatures drop, sleeping bags will provide essential warmth and comfort.
- Protection from the Elements: They offer a barrier against rain, wind, and cold, which is vital for those who are living outside.
- Empowerment: With your help, we can restore a sense of dignity and security to those who have lost so much.
How You Can Help:
1. Donate: Every dollar counts! Your contribution will directly go towards purchasing and distributing sleeping bags.
2. Share: Spread the word about our campaign. The more people who know, the more support we can gather.
3. Volunteer: If you’re local and want to help distribute the sleeping bags or assist in any other way, please reach out to the many local agencies in our area who serve this population.
Our Goal:
We aim to raise $5,000 to purchase sleeping bags that will be distributed to all those affected by the fire. Because we are buying in bulk, each sleeping bag costs approximately $10, and every donation helps us get one step closer to reaching our goal.
About Us:
We are a couple of local Aberdeen residents committed to making a difference in our community. Every penny raised will go directly towards this cause, and we will keep you updated on our progress and the impact your donations are making.
Let's come together to provide warmth and hope to those in need. Your support can make a real difference in the lives of those who have already faced so much hardship.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
