Hi, my name is Loni, and I’m writing this on behalf of my dad, Abel Preciado, and our family during the hardest time we’ve ever faced.
Last week, my dad suffered a traumatic brain injury due to falling and hitting his head while walking back to his car at work. What should have been a normal day turned into a life-changing emergency - and since then, our lives have been turned upside down.
My dad recently underwent a craniotomy - a serious and life-altering brain surgery. This procedure saved his life, but recovery will be long, uncertain, and incredibly challenging. Our family is still trying to process everything that’s happened, while also figuring out how to support him through the road ahead.
Before this injury, my dad was the caretaker and provider for our entire family - four children, my mom, and me. He worked hard every day to make sure we were taken care of. Beyond that, he was the kind of person who lifted up everyone around him. If you knew him, you know his sense of humor, his artistic talents, and his passion for tattooing and music. He brought joy into rooms, made people laugh when they needed it most, and gave so much of himself to others.
Now, our family is facing mounting expenses and uncertainty while my dad focuses on his recovery and healing.
We are raising funds to help cover:
- Medical bills related to his craniotomy
- Medications and ongoing treatments
- Follow-up appointments and rehabilitation
- Time away from work during recovery
- Ongoing dialysis and related care
- Basic living expenses as our family struggles to make ends meet without our main provider
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps relieve some of the overwhelming financial pressure on our family during this time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser or keeping my dad in your prayers means just as much to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story, for your kindness, and for any support you can offer. Our family is incredibly grateful for the love and compassion we’ve already received - and for everyone standing with us as my dad fights to recover.
With gratitude,
The Preciado Family
