My name is Irene from Spain and Abed has reached out to me via Instagram to help him and the people in his tent to have money for water and food.

This is what he said to me:

My name is Abed Alaa Gendida, I am a Palestinian and I live in Gaza City, I am now homeless in a tent for more than a whole year, I study accounting, second level.

I can't believe what happened to me and my family, and I don't know how I'm alive after living very difficult days.

Honestly, I lost my passion and ambition after the occupation destroyed everything in my life, I only think about safety and getting rid of this crazy war, and how to get out of this miserable life.

We are currently living days full of fear, death, hunger and constant displacement. We live in a dark nightmare.

Every day and at every moment we hope that the war, genocide, repression and violations will end. But fear still governs the situation and comes out of our hands, it's getting worse. So I have to do anything just to get out of here and protect my family, but we can't do it and we leave, we don't have money left to travel abroad.

We are all grateful and honored and will never forget your kindness.
