Hi there
I am helping my friend Abed AlAziz who is raising funds for his family and this is Abed's story in his own worlds.
"Dear beloved friends and generous donors,
I am reaching out to you as your little brother who is trying to help and save his family. My name is Abed Alaziz, and I am a Palestinian university student living in the Gaza Strip. I live in a family of 10 members who have experienced the atrocities of war since day one. No words can describe what we have experienced and witnessed.
We had to endure the loss of my father in 2010 from Israeli forces. My mother had to raise me and my four sisters and five brothers. She was a fighter who had to overcome all obstacles to raise us.
Since October 7th, our lives have turned upside down. I lost my university education, as did my brothers and sisters. When the military operation started in Rafah, we fled our home and went to live in a tent, which does not fit for normal human beings, but there is no other way. We are now experiencing the harsh life conditions with no plans for the future. We hope with your help to be able to raise funds to help us after the war, to carry on with our lives. These funds will surely help us during this hard time as prices are skyrocketing, and we don't have any source of income to buy these things.
I am writing these words with a heavy and broken heart for my beloved city. We found ourselves suddenly facing a cruel world that has no respect for human dignity. The family will be evacuating to Egypt when the border is open again so we need the funds to be ready for that time
The funds will go as the following:
Food and living expenses for the family of ten for one month is 5000
Evacuation fees in case the border is open for 10 members 25000 where each person cost 5000 to get through the crossing.
The funds will also help in buying my mother's diabetes medicine as it cost us 100$ every week and it's even really hard to find it out.
Attached are some photos from our tent and the life we are experiencing.
Thank you for your consideration and generosity."
Sincerely,
Abed Alaziz
