Our good friend Abe was diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at the age of 45, about nine years ago. For those who know him, you know his spirit has always been larger than life. Abe never sat still—he was always on the move, full of energy, and constantly working on something. Whether it was his love of stand-up jetskiing, his passion for motorsports, or his projects around the house, he poured himself into everything he did with amazing attention to detail. Renovating, building, and creating—Abe always had a project in motion.

For the last five years, Abe has used a pneumatic wheelchair designed for outdoor use. While it was intended to help him stay active, it’s always struggled on uneven terrain and has been tippy and unreliable. Recently, the chair broke down completely and now requires extensive and expensive repairs to get running again. As a result, Abe is currently unable to get outside at all—something that’s been deeply discouraging for someone who has always loved being outdoors with his family.

Anyone who knows Abe knows that he would never ask for help himself. He’s humble, proud, and has always been the one lending a hand to others. That’s why I decided to take it into my own hands to set up this GoFundMe. Abe deserves the chance to experience life outdoors again—to safely explore his property, spend time with his family, and regain a piece of the independence that MS has taken away.

We’re raising funds to help Abe purchase a track wheelchair—a specialized all-terrain chair that will allow him to safely navigate rough terrain, explore every corner of his property, and most importantly, enjoy meaningful adventures with his family once again.

A track wheelchair isn’t just equipment—it’s freedom. It means Abe can share new experiences with his family, feel the fresh air on his face, and reconnect with the active lifestyle that has always been such a big part of his life. It would also give him a new hobby—something he can customize and modify, just like he used to do with his jetskis and renovation projects. And because his parents live on the same large property, it would allow Abe to ride over to visit them, check in, and spend time together outdoors—something he hasn’t been able to do in far too long.

Our goal is to raise $21,573 , which will cover the cost of the chair and necessary accessories. Every donation, big or small, will help give Abe the gift of mobility and the chance to create lasting memories with his family.
