Help Abdullah's Family Escape Gaza's War

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Concerned Strangers,

My name is Abdullah, I am 19 years old and I am currently going through one of the most terrifying periods of my life. I recently graduated from high school in Gaza and was excited to start my journey at Al-Aqsa University, majoring in IT.

However, the ongoing brutal war in Gaza has shattered my dreams and those of my family.

My family and I have lived in constant fear, and the Israeli military has forced us to flee our home many times as we have no place to stay. It has been a horrific year without proper food or medicine, and our situation is desperate.

Our family consists of five members that I am responsible for after the death of my father, each of whom struggles with their own fears and challenges:

1. My sister Shahd only studied in high school for a month and she was studying hard to get a high score but it all went downhill.

2. My younger brother Abdulrahman is 12 years old and he is terrified of the children being killed. He always tells me, “I don’t want to be my turn, I don’t want to die, they only kill children like me,” which breaks my heart as I feel like I can’t do anything. He also dreamed of going to finish his studies, but now he is suffering with us from lack of food, water and fear.

3. My sister Waad recently started ninth grade for a month and she told me that the day before this genocide began, she never imagined that it would be her last day to see her friends, teachers and school.

Our father passed away before the genocide began and I am responsible for their lives. You are our only remaining hope to travel and survive from Gaza to Egypt, to escape the horrors we have faced and begin to rebuild our lives.

The prices of leaving Gaza through the Rafah crossing have increased since the war began and cost $5,000 per person. We are a family of 5, so the total price is about $25,000 and we cannot afford it. There are entry taxes, supplies, transit fees, and expenses until we settle down, so we need $50,000.

The money raised through GoFundMe will be transferred directly from my friend in America to my mother. Every dollar counts and brings us closer to a semblance of normalcy and healing.

In this hour of need, we turn to you. Your compassion and contribution can change our lives and give us a chance at a future we currently only dare to dream of.

Please donate what you can, share our story with your networks, and keep us in your thoughts.
