Help Abdullah in Gaza Get a Phone—and a Lifeline
My name is Uvika, and I live in Portugal. This is my urgent plea for my dear friend Abdullah Zakaria, who is living in unimaginable conditions in Gaza.
Right now, Abdullah has no working phone. That means no internet, no way to ask for help, and no way to stay safe by staying connected.
In Gaza, your phone isn’t just a luxury, it’s your lifeline. It’s how you communicate with the world, find the few remaining resources, get alerts about airstrikes, and let people know you're alive.
Abdullah is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met—thoughtful, resilient, and always thinking of others. But he has lost everything: his home, his job, his health, and his access to the outside world is now also at stake. He is struggling to survive while also caring for his sick mother, his young relatives, and even his beloved cat.
I’m raising funds to get him a phone—just one phone—so he can stay connected and continue campaigning for his own survival.
After that, if we raise more, the rest will go toward basic necessities: food, clean water, and life-saving medicine.
Why a Phone?
Abdullah’s only access to the world is through the internet. That access is now gone.
Without a phone:
* He cannot message or video call.
* He cannot update those trying to help.
* He cannot access donations.
* He cannot stay informed about nearby danger.
* He cannot share his story, his reality, with the world.
Something as simple as a working phone and internetcan mean the difference between despair and dignity.
Why More Help is Needed
Once we reach the goal for the phone, any extra funds will go toward survival needs, including:
- $320 for flour (lasts one week)
- $350 for vegetables (if available)
- $200 for clean water
- $300 for medical treatment (Abdullah suffers from epilepsy and a painful bone disease, while his mother has high blood pressure that may lead to blindness)
- $70 for food and care for his cat
These prices aren’t inflated. They are the brutal reality of life under siege, with borders sealed and markets collapsing. And due to high transfer and withdrawal fees, Abdullah loses around 30% of any money he receives.
He has no income. No aid. No security. Just a phone and our help could change everything.
How You Can Help
Your donation will:
- Help buy Abdullah a working smartphone
- Cover internet and power bank costs to keep it charged
- Support basic food, water, and medicine needs
- Restore his voice, and his hope
If you can't donate, please share this campaign. Your voice might reach someone who can help.
Abdullah dreams of becoming a medical doctor. Even in the worst circumstances, he holds on to that hope so he can one day help others. But first, he needs to survive.
Please, if you’re able, donate. This is one small thing that can make a very real difference.
With love and urgency,
