Abdullah, his wife, and five children are stuck in Gaza with no food, no money, and Abdullah has recently been hit with the collateral damage of a missile, disabling him in a hospital bed. His wife and children have been taking cover for the past 6 months in the meanwhile. This has been Abdullah and his family’s reality since October 7th 2023.

In July 2024, Abdullah reached out to me through Instagram asking for help with his GoFundMe. I did what I could and kept sharing the page. We then didn’t talk again until October 2025, when his Instagram story came up and I saw upsetting images of him now seriously injured with metal pins in his legs laid in a hospital bed. I replied to the story saying that I wish I could do so much more for you and sent him love and strength. He kept asking for help in his stories but the GoFundMe link was no longer in his profile. So a few days later, I pushed some more to find out how I could help. We talked quite a bit (with the help of translation tools) and I came to find out that the previous person who created a GoFundMe for Abdullah and his family unusually stopped talking to him and cancelled it.

Here is what Abdullah has to say (using a translation tool from Arabic to English):

“My name is Abdullah, and I'm from Gaza. I have five children and my wife. They've been living in a mosque for six months. We have no blankets, no mattresses, and no winter clothes. We sleep on the carpets. We fled our homes under indiscriminate bombing, escaping death. We didn't take any clothes or any necessities. Our lives are hell. There's no flour, no food, no money, no water. Everything is expensive. I struggle to provide for them. Sometimes we eat, sometimes we don't. We feel like we're dying a slow death. The children scream from the intensity of the bombing. I was going home to get winter clothes for my children when I was hit by a missile. Now I can't walk; I'm completely disabled. I wear diapers. My whole body is riddled with shrapnel. I was discharged from the hospital, and now I'm with my children. I can't provide them with food, winter clothes, or money. They beg for help, and I'm helpless. My situation is crushing me, and I cry from my helplessness.”

For full transparency so everyone knows and understands why I am creating this GoFundMe:

Abdullah does not have a bank account and in his current situation, is unable to make one. However, he does have access to a private community shared PayPal. The owner of this PayPal is scared that his PayPal would be closed if it receives amounts that are too small, so they only accept donations in 100+. But many people would struggle to donate 100+. The owner of this PayPal account also requires to see a screenshot receipt of every transfer into the PayPal to prove who would be the recipient of the money. This would be too complex and would affect Abdullah receiving efficient/significant enough monetary help. Therefore, I am creating this GFM so that if people would like to help Abdullah and his family, it will hopefully amount to 100+ so that I can retrieve it and transfer it into the relevant PayPal account and only one screenshot receipt will be needed as proof.
