Help Abby recover from surgery!

Hi, my name is Justin and my great friend and colleague, Kate, is going through a seriously difficult time with recent vet bills due to an unexpected nerve/ACL rupture that poor Abby has incurred. For context, Kate is a badass who has climbed every 14er in Colorado (58 total!!) with Abby by her side for many of them. During a routine game of catch in the park, Abby incurred an injury through a freak surprise popped ACL and pinched nerve. She lost all mobility in her back legs and was unable to walk. Abby is the fittest, sweetest, and most lovable dog and unfortunately has had a large part of her spark taken away. With all of this trauma, of course comes vet bills.

 

Abby will undergo surgery this week and thankfully, will be able to walk and function at a more casual level but it could be way worse! One of the most difficult pieces, though, is that while in recovery mode for the next 2 weeks, Kate needs to ensure Abby is not moving at all (meaning no walks, no following mom around the house, no playing with other pups, difficult bathroom breaks, the list goes on). As you can imagine, a dog like Abby is used to being very active with her mom and this has created some major logistical challenges for them both. With all of your help, we can alleviate at least a portion of these challenges by helping cover the cost of the vet bills (>$5000).

 

The vet bills totaled over $5,000 but if we go over, this will cover the rest of the expenses Kate will incur over the next few months (follow-up visits, recovery equipment/gear, medications, personal expenses, proper food, etc.)
