Help Abby Heal from Chiari Malformation

It’s weighing heavy on my heart to share that my niece, Abby, has been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.

Her recent MRI Cine Flow Test showed a complete posterior blockage of cerebrospinal fluid at the back of her foramen magnum. This blockage causes pressure buildup in her brain and leads to severe headaches, dizziness, nausea, and weakness.

Doctors have now discovered platybasia with basilar invagination of her C2, meaning part of her spine is pushing into her brain stem. Her neurosurgeon has recommended surgery as soon as possible.

Abby has good days and bad ones—she faces daily headaches and dizziness, and on her worst days she feels like she might pass out, with shaking, sweating, and nausea.

This journey has brought emotional, physical, and financial strain on her family. The cost of neurosurgery, travel, lodging, food, and time away from work adds up quickly.

I’m humbly asking for your help to ease this burden. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Abby’s care and her family’s expenses during this difficult season.
