I'm Julie Anderson and run a charity for poor families in South Africa. We have another sweet young lady in South Africa who would like to serve the Lord by going on a mission. So far my charity "Feeding South Africa" has served almost exclusively LDS church members. Not because that's our focus, we just haven't had a lot of donations coming in, and church members are who we know and have contact with. They know who is in need and point us in that direction. Abby is in a very poor ward. There aren't the funds or means to help her go on the mission she desires so much to go on. Thankfully we got Mish on her mission. But we have no funds left to send Abby on her mission. It will take about $1500 for her to get all the medical, luggage, and supplies needed. Please consider helping her with this mission. See her own heartfelt words below.
I am Abigail Govender and I live in Durban, South Africa. I knew I wanted to serve as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from my years in Primary singing “I hope they call me on a mission.” My older brother Elder Aaron who is currently serving in New Zealand is also an inspiration to me. I know that as I help others come unto Jesus Christ I will also be strengthening my own testimony. My mum became unemployed just before my brother left on his mission but thankfully through the grace of God and kindness of others we were able to send him with the necessities he needed. I know that the Lord knows the desires of my heart and my willingness to serve and that he will do the same for me. Our family was the first pioneer members of our ward in Chatsworth, Durban when it first started, so serving a mission is important to our family. I believe that as I share the Gospel I will be the Lords lighthouse. I will be an example to the youth in my ward and also in my community.
