Help Abby and Lilly in Memory of Lanie
Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we share about the life and the passing of Lanie — a deeply loved wife, mother, and friend, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Her illness was aggressive and sudden, and though her time here was far too short, her love and light left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Lanie was born and raised in the Philippines in a large, close-knit family. She grew up by the sea, climbing trees and embracing life with joy and adventure — a spirit she carried with her throughout her life. She moved to San Anselmo when her daughter Abby was just four years old, building a beautiful life alongside her husband Dan, her mother-in-law Wendy, and their two daughters, Abby (11) and Lilly (3).
Together, Lanie and Wendy ran a warm and nurturing home daycare, caring for many Fairfax / Sleepy Hollow / SA babies as if they were their own. Lanie had a kindness and love for children — she adored her daughters, loved dressing them up, and delighted in cooking, decorating cakes, and sharing her favorite fruit, mangoes. Abby is now a fifth grader at Hidden Valley, and Lilly is starting T-K next year.
Even through the darkest days of her illness, Lanie remained a beacon of positivity. She fought with everything she had, praying for a miracle and doing all she could to spend more time with her children. She reminded us to cherish each day, to laugh, to love, and to hold tight to what truly matters. She was beautiful and fierce — even when she could no longer speak, her strength and love were undeniable.
Now, Dan and Wendy are carrying on without their beloved Lanie, raising Abby and Lilly with the strength and love she instilled in them. As they navigate this unimaginable loss, we’re asking for your support.
Donations will go directly toward medical bills, funeral expenses, activities for the girls, and helping ensure a stable, loving future for Abby and Lilly. No contribution is too small — and if you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others.
Thank you for honoring Lanie’s memory and for standing beside the family she cherished so deeply.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Emily & Sarah
