Help Abbie With her fight
Donation protected
This family is living a life that few could imagine. Meet the Hedrick’s- Roby (Dad) is an avid outdoorsman, loves hunting and fishing. Abbie (Mom) loves Jesus and her family, thrives off of raising her daughters, and going camping as much as possible. Natalie is 12, loves to hunt (like dad) and loves being involved in any extra activities. Madelyn is 10, is a sweet quiet soul, and loves giggling with friends.
Now that you’ve met them, here is their story---Roby and Abbie were enjoying marriage, when in 2014 Abbie found out she had breast cancer. At only 23 with young children who needed her, she fought hard! A double mastectomy, chemo, lots of doctor appointments, and she beat it!
Only months after being in remission, a mass was found on her ovary which resulted in a compete hysterectomy. This was another devastating blow, as the couple had planned on having a “bus full of children”! After surgery, Abbie was back in remission!
During remission, she developed a lot of harsh symptoms. Abbie was diagnosed with “Graves’ Disease”, which is a thyroid disorder. She recovered, and went back into remission for 5 wonderful years.
Another devastation came in 2019 when Abbie was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. This means the cancer moved to other parts of her body, it was found in her sternum bone and in her lungs. She was diagnosed as stage 4 and terminal.
Abbie has been fighting for over 4 years, during this time she has always been on chemo treatment. Her body is becoming very exhausted from all of the medicines, side effects, and stress that has been forced onto her body. Currently, her biggest struggle is fluid development around her lungs, it has made her unable to do things that a mother/wife needs to be able to do for her family.
Through it all Roby has been her steady rock, and hasn’t hesitated to step up and play both roles for their family. Abbie has always taken pride in being so strong through her many struggles, but lately it has not been so easy to put on a brave face. The girls are now at an age where they are more aware of how sick momma is. They are so helpful and are the best nurses, but are very confused and anxious about their momma’s condition. cans, and constantly changing treatment plans. The cos
Abbie just recently started seeing a new oncologist for a new treatment plan with a new approach! Her new doctor is hopeful that this current treatment is working. The family is hopeful that this new Oncologist is just what God has chosen for her future moving forward. Her next scan is in July. The Hedrick’s are very appreciative of any donation you give but what they desperately seek is prayers. Pray that this next scan will show that medicine is working! This family’s faith in God and God’s grace is what gets them through every single battle they face.
When we said this family is living a life few could imagine, that is because through all of this they have never stopped having a home filled with love, laughter, strength and hope for the future. Even less few get to know what it feels like to have an army of people praying for you. Thank you for listening to our story, God bless you!
