Help Abbey Recover from Devastating Car Accident
Donation protected
I want to tell you about my friend Abbey.
Abbey and I knew each other way back in the 90s. We drifted apart over the next twenty plus years, but when I was in a car wreck in November of 2024, we reconnected. Her words and prayers helped heal my spirit, and as my body recovered, I learned more about the time that has passed since we spoke. This included her battles with a COVID exposure early on the pandemic that affected her medically to an extreme degree.
Soon I had made plans to come visit her farm and help out where I could. In January of 2025 I flew out from Denver to visit her in Arkansas.
I stood awaiting her arrival at the airport only for her to never arrive.
I finally received a phone call that she was in a major car accident. Her car had been hit, flipped, and slid through a dangerous intersection. The doors that were exposed could not be open due to the sheer force of the impact bending them or breaking off their handles.
As gas poured out of the car, local men broke their way into the car and used a knife to cut her out of her seatbelt and pull her out.
Soon she was in the hospital being stabilized. Multiple of her airbags failed to deploy and the full extent of her injuries is still unknown as more evaluations are pending.
You can hopefully understand my guilt and frustration over it all. A story that began with an old friend helping a guy heal from a wreck, now is one where that same friend is trying to heal from one herself.
That's why I am here and what I am asking from all of you. She has a long fight ahead of her with medical bills and everything associated with a car wreck. I am hoping to take the burden of replacing her vehicle off of her. As the insurance companies on both sides drag their feet, she remains without a vehicle.
She lives in a very rural area in Arkansas and, once she is back on her feet, cannot be left without a means of transportation.
I have no idea if I am asking for enough money, but I hope so.
Abbey is known by every single person she knows as a mentor, therapist, counselor, hero and every positive descriptor you can think of. Her faith in God and humanity has remained unwavering even in the face of events like this.
Any amount helps and every single dollar will go directly to her. Anything above and beyond the goal will be used toward any unexpected expenses as well.
