Help Abbey Heal
Donation protected
Instead of continuing cycles of shame and debt, I'm sharing so that those who are in a position to help can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me dig out so Elliot and I can both get everything we need for a healthy, happy life!
This gofundme is to help us climb out of the $7,441.57 of debt we are currently in and to get a handle on making our rental apartment safer for a toddler and a disabled SAHM mom.
Backstory:
When I found out I was pregnant with Elliot in January 2021, I was running marathons, teaching fitness, freelancing for multiple startups and local businesses, and starting up my own business, Abbey Howarth Ceramics.
By 5 weeks pregnant, I was in the hospital because I hadn't kept down water for days. For the next 4 months, I was barely able to sit up, let alone work. My body did her job and Elliot joined us September 2, 2021. Since his birth, I have discovered more and more health issues. I now am disabled, in debt, in need of MORE help, support and care, and am a stay at home mom to magical little Elliot Hazel.
I am currently seeking diagnoses for Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrom, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). I believe that I have had all since before Elliot's arrival, but the physical stress of the event has brought all conditions to a head.
My joints are unstable and I am no longer able to throw clay for very long. I'm supposed to limit stress to my joints so I can protect and preserve them, though I know I already have done some damage. My feet have flattened under constant pressure and laxity. I am tired all the time. Like new mom tired but with a thousand more layers.
