Help Ashley Courtney's Recovery (Abba)
This page has been established to help our dear friend Ashley on her road to recovery; and to help all of us share our love and support for her, as well as to streamline the process of disseminating information on her path to healing.
Ashley and Spencer were in a motorcycle accident on Monday, August 9, 2021. Thankfully Spencer is ok and has been released from the hospital. Ashley is in the Trauma ICU having sustained severe injuries, including a below the knee amputation on her right leg. She also fractured her left femur and pelvis. She’s had surgeries to repair her femur and pelvis, as well as undergone a second surgery to revise and close her amputated leg.
Although she’s sustained very severe injuries, she’s healing faster than expected, and there's outstanding hope and laughter in her ICU room! Her family is at her side and taking limited visitors for now.
***This page is the home for her current status and medical updates, and we will be keeping this thread current.***
Ashley is a dynamic, kind, and genuine person. She is a friend to many; she’s always had room in her life to share her love across many social groups and she’s able to invest genuine time into each relationship. We all know and cherish this love that she shares. Ashley is also incredibly funny, she’s always the life of the party, and her goofy nature makes you want to smile. Ashley is also an incredible gymnast. She’s always been very athletic and started gymnastics at a young age . She was the head coach and team director at Gymnastics Nevada from 2008-2018 and is currently a senior coach at Truckee gymnastics.
The fundraiser goal has been set with no limit in mind. We would like to generate as much funds as possible for Ashley because of the extreme costs of the medical care. Including, but not limited to, the Care Flight from the accident, ICU and surgery costs, orthopedic care at the hospital, rehabilitation, physical therapy, a possible prosthetic, and much more.
Abba has a gift that has touched many people, and we all want to be a part of her recovery by reciprocating that love back. All of your support and love is appreciated, no matter what that support looks like.
With love,
Family & Friends
