Aaron and his family have always worked hard to provide for their loved ones, but recently, a series of setbacks has left them struggling to keep up. Aaron’s new car, which he relies on to get to work, broke down unexpectedly when the engine blew. Although the car is under warranty, the repairs are taking time, and in the meantime, the family has a rental car but can’t afford the gas to keep Aaron working. Missing two weeks of work has put them even further behind, and now their internet has been shut off, their phones are about to be disconnected, and Aaron’s wife has been searching for a job for almost a month without success. Despite her qualifications, she’s been turned away again and again.

With four children to care for, their EBT benefits only stretch so far—barely enough to cover a week’s worth of food. Aaron faces a 21-mile commute to work from Cuba, but tonight, he doesn’t have enough gas to get home. The family is sleeping on the floor because the car problems have made it impossible to afford beds and other essentials. Every day feels like another hurdle, and they just can’t seem to catch a break.
