Help Aaron Walk Again
Donation protected
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to read our plea for help. We are in urgent need of funds to help Aaron walk again. Aaron, see above in the photo with his brother, was in the top 5 percent of Wyoming State fifth graders and an emerging young entrepreneur with a heart of gold. Unfortunately, and tragically, just before his 12th birthday Aaron had feigned being sick and stayed home from school. His sister later confided to his parents that he was being badly bullied in gym class and that was the reason he would have wanted to stay home. While Aaron was home, he was a victim of a home break in and was shot point blank in the head.
Aaron has suffered a wide range of ongoing side effects and lasting physical and mental injuries as a result of the attack. Five times during the 45 weeks he was at Colorado Children’s Hospital the family was told that there was “no hope”. Five times, Aaron’s will to live and prayer from thousands of folks brought him back. His parents and brother and sister insist that Aaron is “in there”. But, as of now, he is quadriplegic and is unable to speak. Since January he has regained a good amount of neck and head control/movement, limited motor functions in hands and is starting to make sounds. Aaron has been determined and working hard towards getting better and showing astonishing improvement in the last three months with acupuncture treatment by Dr. Junou Cheng. Unfortunately, he has hit a plateau with physical therapy at home at 2-3 times a week at 45 minutes each; which is the maximum Medicaid will give him. Currently, Aaron receives 2 to 3 acupuncture treatments a week which has been coming straight out of pocket from his parents. Aaron's best chance for a recovery is to attend a specialty stroke recovery hospital in Harbin China, The Harbin Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Here, Aaron will receive intensive acupuncture and physical therapy/massage treatment 2 times daily 7 days a week for 3 months. This will drastically increasing his chance for recovery and to help gain the ability to walk and to feed himself.
Today our goal is to raise $70,000 by June 15th as that is the time limit to which the room at the hospital will be available to Aaron. Dr. Cheng is so adamant that the treatment will work for him that she has agreed to fly to China with him for 10 days, for the price of airfare only, to make sure that the treatment for Aaron meets her requirements! She has said many times, “this boy can heal”!
Please, if you can spare any amount of money it would be greatly appreciated. We are striving our hardest to help Aaron walk again and to live as normal a life as is possible. He has suffered a tremendous amount of pain and anguish and we all want to see him live as close to his full potential as can be. If you cannot donate please share our story with your friends and family within your social circles, perhaps someone that you know is willing to donate or to share our story further.
Thank you so much!
