Help Aaron Through This Unimaginable Tragedy

My name is Michele Fox-Zaremsky. Please join me in my effort to raise funds to support my dear friends the Rubins.

One of our favorite Dix Hills families needs your HELP and ACTION for their sweet, kind, funny, and smart son Aaron Rubin. Anybody who knows Aaron could give you thousands of reasons why he's so special. Aaron is a 20-year-old Junior attending the University of Michigan. He is an exceptional brother, son, friend, and member of the community to all who know him.

Aaron was going about his life working hard and doing normal everyday things until this Saturday, August 5th, 2023, when an unimaginable tragedy struck. Aaron was sitting outside with some friends enjoying a slice of pizza at a local Huntington hotspot when out of nowhere, a highly intoxicated 31-year-old man threw bricks into an open crowd of innocent people sitting outside the restaurant. The drunk individual hurled a brick directly at Aaron's skull causing major trauma and internal bleeding. After a 3-hour surgery, Aaron is recovering and showing promising signs of improvement. The recovery will be a very long journey and will require additional surgeries, including a synthetic skull procedure.

Instead of Aaron returning to school this fall as planned, Aaron will undergo surgeries, therapies, and require around-the-clock medical care. Aside from all the physical and mental anguish, this will result in tremendous hardship for the entire Rubin family. Jessica and Danny Rubin will need to take considerable time off from work to care for their dear son.

I have set up this GoFundMe to raise money for mounting medical bills, therapies, in-home medical care, and the weeks and possibly months of missed work. I have been close family friends with the Rubin family for over 20 years. They are a beautiful family of 5 who are wonderful members of the Dix Hills/Melville, Temple Beth Torah, Camp Wahnee, and University of Michigan communities. So please, let's rally behind them and support them in this senseless tragedy.
