Help Aaron Hudson Keep Baking Through Cancer

Donation protected
The local bakery owner of Hudson Baking Co, Aaron Hudson, has been diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Despite a previous battle with cancer three years ago, it has resurfaced aggressively. Aaron is a dedicated baker who is passionate about his craft and community. He has worked tirelessly to build his business, even baking bread for customers the morning of his cancer surgery. The community is rallying around Aaron and his family, offering support and prayers as he faces this challenging time. The family is grateful for the community's support and hopes to continue serving them for years to come.

Raised in Boise, Idaho, Aaron proudly served in the US Army after graduating from Boise High School. With an honorable discharge, he pursued his bachelor's degree while working in an organic kitchen under a renowned chef. This experience ignited his passion for creating food, leading him to take over the pastry department and refine his skills. During the pandemic, neighbors and friends requested fresh loaves from Aaron when stores everywhere were sold out. Recognizing the community's need, he rented a commissary in a nearby town and began baking at night while maintaining his day job. They delivered across the Treasure Valley and participated in multiple farmers markets. Their support surged overnight, solidifying Aaron's commitment to his culinary passion.

In August 2021, we opened our bakery. Three months later, before Thanksgiving, Aaron was diagnosed with cancer. He delayed surgery to prioritize his customers' orders. After surgery, he worked tirelessly to fulfill Thanksgiving orders and ensure the store was fully stocked. He took 24 hours to recover from surgery and was back in his kitchen, with me by his side as we worked around the clock to get Thanksgiving orders fulfilled and make sure the store would be fully stocked! We baked up until Thanksgiving day, sold every last bun, roll, and loaf, and closed our doors for two weeks to finally give him the necessary time he would need to recover.

Our bakery has been a true grassroots movement as our bread family has come around us and supported us through many difficult challenges we've faced. Aaron labors hard, working 15+ hours a day, 7 days a week!

Three years later, on November 6th of this year, Aaron found himself in agonizing pain. Rushing him to the emergency room, we spent over eight hours as they ran every possible test, only to receive devastating news: his cancer had returned, metastasizing in his back right next to his left kidney. This news has shattered our family, our sweet small-town bakery, and the entire community. Aaron is a hard-working and dedicated individual who has always put his family, community, and craft first. He has baked countless treats for schools, churches, police and fire departments, and various gatherings, tirelessly working around the clock to connect people with the food they eat. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from our community. As Aaron navigates treatment, we hope to keep our shop doors open and continue raising our family. Aaron will require costly treatments, and we are determined to do everything in our power to ensure he receives the care he needs. We kindly ask for your prayers during this challenging time. If you feel compelled to donate, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. We hope to continue baking for our community for many years to come, and we are eternally grateful for the incredible support we have received. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult journey.
