Hi, my name is Kate and I am Aaron’s aunt. I am asking for your help to support him in a time of great need.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, Aaron was admitted to hospital in a very serious and worrying condition. He remains in hospital and is having many tests and investigations, along with symptom management, while the medical team works to figure out what is wrong. At the moment we do not have a definitive diagnosis, but we do know this is serious and he is still very sick. A recent MRI has ruled out tumours, which we are so incredibly relieved to know, but he faces further, more invasive testing in the coming days and weeks.
One of the most alarming parts has been how quickly this has affected him physically. Aaron experienced rapid, significant weakness and loss of strength, and his mobility was impacted in a major way. When he was admitted, he was struggling to walk normally, and the speed of this decline was genuinely shocking. He has also experienced significant unintended weight loss over the past several weeks, which added to the urgency of his care.
Aaron prioritizes his physical and mental well-being. This rapid decline has affected both in major ways, and even with the best possible outcome, his recovery will take time.
As most will know, Aaron is a self-employed actor/singer and creative designer. He had theatre contracts lined up for the coming months in Ontario and Calgary, and has had to cancel those, along with current and upcoming creative design projects that were lined up. Even if this turns out to be something he can make a full recovery from, which we pray will be the case, it will take months for him to build the strength and stamina required to travel, perform, and manage his business again. Aaron’s doctor has advised a significant period away from work while he recovers, and it’s expected to be several months at minimum.
I have received Aaron’s blessing to set up this GoFundMe. No amount is too small, and every bit will help to ease the pressure on him and allow him time to heal and build strength again. Funds will go toward essential living costs and recovery-related needs while Aaron is unable to work.
I will provide updates, and on behalf of Aaron, I appreciate any support beyond words. Thank you so much.
