This isn’t something I normally would do, but if anyone deserves a little help, it’s Aaron. Aaron was born in 1995, 3 ½ months premature, weighing only 899 grams and measuring 12 inches long. He was given less than a 5% chance to live, and doctors said that if he survived, he would never walk, talk, eat food, or do anything at all due to the bleeds on his brain. Since birth, Aaron has faced dozens of surgeries, near-fatal complications, cerebral palsy, Asperger’s, and more. But Aaron was determined to rise above it all. With thousands of hours of physical, occupational, and speech therapy, he learned to walk, talk, eat food, and live a life that, according to his doctors, he would never have. After graduating high school, Aaron enrolled in courses at The American Broadcasting School and earned his diploma. He still faces many setbacks, illnesses, and challenges, but he never gives up. Aaron is devoted and passionate about helping others, self-advocating, and teaching others to advocate for themselves. He lives in an assisted living home and has a part-time job that he does with assistance. He is always striving to make his life better and help those around him. For years, Aaron has been working on his podcast, Aaron’s Journey. But last week, his computer broke down and is beyond repair. Without a computer, he can’t do his podcast or enjoy his gaming hobby. His computer is his connection to the world, and without it, he can’t accomplish his dreams and goals for his podcast.
