I'm Aaron, a nonbinary Asian guy living in the United States.

I grew up with a lot of trauma, that even now I struggle to come to grips with. I'm not the only person to have gone through anything like this, and unfortunately won't be the last. Especially in this day and age.

After much therapy and clinical diagnoses of severe C-PTSD, anxiety, and depression, as well as comorbidities with ADHD, many have recommended an emotional support animal, or ESA. It feels as though everyone in my life is excited for me to get an ESA, except for me.

I want make sure to provide an animal with as best and comfortable of a life, and I not only feel it is an investment in improving the quality of my life, but also my ability to work and function day to day. It most likely would be a cat that I might search for in shelters, foster homes or rescues.

If you feel your money and time is needed elsewhere, I fully understand. But right now this feels like one of my last chances at hope. Not to say that to obligate anyone- just at how ashamed I feel reaching out for help with this.

I would really like to take care of something that requires me to take care of myself, and also, it would be neat to have my own cat.
