Support Aaron & Cass Donald: A Mount Morgan Community Couple Fight Against Myeloid Sarcoma

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

We are rallying together to support a couple who represent the very heart of Mount Morgan. Aaron and Cassandra (Cass) Donald have just been dealt a sudden, life-changing medical blow, and now it is our turn to stand behind the family that has contributed so much quietly to our community.

If you live in Mount Morgan, chances are Aaron and Cass have impacted your life for the better, they aren't loud about it, they go about achieving things quietly.

Aaron, a Goovigen boy born in Biloela in 1972, is a devoted husband, a father of four, and a doting grandfather of four. He has dedicated over a decade to building up our community. He served the Golden Mount Festival committee from 2015 up until the early 2020s as both President and Vice President, earned a proud Life Membership, served as Vice President of the Mount Morgan State High School P&C, and spent two years running our local Youth Week in 2015 and 2016.

Right beside him, Cass has been a pillar of our daily community life. For years, she has volunteered her time behind the scenes as an administrator for the local Facebook community group Mount Morgan General, keeping our town connected, informed, and supported. More recently, she stepped up to take on the vital management role at The Village, the accommodation camp hosting the workforce for the construction of the Mount Morgan Heritage Minerals mine project—a role crucial to the economic revival of our region.

Together, Aaron and Cass are a powerhouse team who always step up when Mount Morgan needs them. Now, they face a mountain of their own.

The Medical Battle Ahead
Aaron has just been diagnosed with Myeloid Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive malignant tumor formed by immature white blood cells developing outside the bone marrow. Because this is considered an extramedullary form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), it requires highly specialized, systemic treatment.

Aaron has been admitted and immediately transferred 900 kilometers away from home to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH). He is currently awaiting a crucial bone marrow biopsy for genetic profiling so his hematologist-oncologist team can target the exact biomarkers of his illness. His treatment plan will require aggressive systemic chemotherapy, and potentially a stem cell transplant, radiation, or surgery.

Why We Need Your Help
Because of the intensity of this treatment, Aaron and Cass face being completely uprooted from their home, their children, their grandchildren, and their work for six months or more.

This means they are suddenly without income while facing a massive financial burden 900km away from home. Your donations will directly assist Aaron and Cass with:

Living expenses in Brisbane for Cass to remain by Aaron's side as his primary support.

Covering ongoing bills, rent, and expenses back home to ensure their life is secure when they return.

Medical expenses, pharmaceuticals, and specialised support services during his stay at RBWH.

Travel costs for their children and grandchildren to visit them during this long six-month battle.

Aaron and Cass have given years of voluntary service, leadership, and care to make Mount Morgan a tighter, stronger community. Let’s take the financial pressure completely off their shoulders so Aaron can focus 100% of his energy on fighting this cancer.

Any donation, no matter how small, makes a massive difference. If you are unable to donate, please share this link widely with your networks.

Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your love for Aaron, Cass, and their family.
