Hey there, my name is Aaron Gatica. Currently, I'm training the best that I can at Bethel Conservatory of the Arts in Redding, California, by pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Acting. I will be starting my 2nd year out of 3 years this mid-August of 2021. I am also physically training to be action movie-ready by the time I graduate in 2023. I dream of being in action films because I genuinely enjoy them, but also in honor of my Dad and to feel closer to him. In 2019, my Dad and I were looking forward to watching John Wick 3, but he never got the chance since he passed away because of cancer a couple of months after it was in theaters. We didn't have much in common, but we both loved action films, and it was a way he and I bonded.
However, I can't do this alone. Each Year of the 3 Year Bachelor's program costs 25,400 dollars. Even with a work-study job at school, my job at a local pizza place, Federal Student Loans, and Pell Grants, I still owe 1,528 dollars from last year's program. I also have a remaining gap balance of 5,113 dollars for this next school year after receiving the maximum financial aid from the US Government. It's hard asking for help, but I need help if I am to continue school.
BCA has a unique "Presence-focused" culture where acting technique is built upon a foundation of identity in Christ. The school's formal theatrical acting training is robust and includes various acting techniques, movement, voice & speech, and on-camera work. The final year focuses on performances and professional development, culminating in a senior showcase for industry professionals. The 2nd Year that I will be undertaking would include intermediate/advanced acting and voice technique classes focusing on advanced classical work, including Shakespeare, Chekov, Ibsen, and others. As well as more on-camera acting experience, audition technique, and professional preparation, and exploring other mainstream techniques like Stanislavsky, Hagen, Adler, and more.
I've never acted in my life until I started going to this school and it's really changed my life so far. I'm grateful to be going to a school like this that is helping me unlock parts of myself that I never knew were there. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you consider helping an underdog out! I'm doing all I can to look at other opportunities to pay for the rest of my tuition, and I hope this one pans out really well!
