My fiancé, Aaron Messer is 39 years old. He was recently diagnosed with stage four metastatic malignant melanoma—and we need your support and strength to overcome this. 

Many people know Aaron as a family member, friend, or coworker. Others know Aaron from the fitness community where he may have been your coach or the kind guy helping you push yourself to be your best in the gym. Aaron and I actually met at the Arnold Sports Festival, where I instantly fell in love with his infectious smile and go-getter attitude. 

As you may know, I am an ICU nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac; I’ve helped miracles happen and I know that Aaron will be another miracle. We have a long road ahead of us—the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes, liver, spine, and brain. 

Aaron is currently undergoing treatment at the University of Michigan-Rogel Cancer Center for the best treatment in Michigan (I’m a die-hard State fan so I’m grateful to these Wolverines).

Losing the ability to work and even to drive has been both emotionally and financially draining for both of us. The doctors say we have a big battle ahead of us and we need all the support of our community to help us fight this cancer.
