Help Aaron and Nora escape the South
Donation protected
The world is scary right now, especially if you're trans. Every day there's some kind of new legislation targeting trans folks, some kind of protest or doxxing or violence targeting the community. And the South is the epicenter of it.
It's only going to get worse, especially with an election coming up. We want out.
Nora is disabled, and the two of them are surviving pretty much entirely off of Aaron's paycheck. As a vet tech, he doesn't earn much to begin with- really only enough to make ends meet. Saving money has gone from nearly impossible to literally impossible.
We've looked it up- renting a container to hold all of our belongings and ship them is going to cost about $2,000. And shipping the car (it's electric and older and has a range of only about 40 miles, so can't be driven there without great difficulty) is going to cost at least another $1,000.
We're not going to be able to manage this without a lot of help from other people.
If you know Aaron, you know how hard it is for him to ask for help. He hates doing it. But this is the situation we find ourselves in: fleeing from an increasingly dangerous environment to somewhere hopefully safer.
Can you please help us? Please?
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
-Aaron and Nora.
