Help Aamin Start His UWC Journey

Hello! My name is Aamin Mukhtar, I’m 17 years old and from Sudan. I’ve always been passionate about innovation, technology, and design, and since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of becoming a robotics engineer.

This August, I will begin a new academic journey at UWC East Africa in Arusha, Tanzania, after being awarded a fully funded tuition scholarship through the UWC National Committee of Sudan. I was selected from among many applicants after months of dedication, hard work, and interviews, a journey I took very seriously, knowing how rare and life-changing this opportunity is, especially during a time of conflict in my home country.

For me, UWC is not just a school, it is a life changing opportunity, a profound experience, and a great challenge. Through the International Baccalaureate programme, I will receive a world-class education that will prepare me to pursue university studies in electrical and electronic engineering, a step toward realizing my dream of becoming a robotics engineer and helping to solve issues like Sudan’s household electricity shortage and supporting infrastructure development.

Yes, maybe I’m a bit of a nerd. I love science, solving puzzles, and coding. But I also deeply love my country. I believe that learning is the most powerful tool to change the world, and this scholarship is my path to making a difference.

Unfortunately, while my tuition is covered, there are still urgent additional costs that my family, now displaced by war, cannot afford:

▫️Return flight ticket to Tanzania
▫️Visa, travel tax, and other travel-related documents
▫️A laptop with the required specifications for academic work
▫️A scientific calculator
▫️Pocket money (about $50/month) for personal essentials

Due to the ongoing war in Sudan, my family was forced to flee, and we lost our home and source of livelihood. In these circumstances, I cannot ask my parents, who’ve already done so much for me, to cover these expenses. That’s why I am turning to people who believe in education, in dreams, and in giving young people a chance.

I need to arrive in Tanzania by 5 August 2025, so I am now working urgently to gather the necessary funds. Every contribution, no matter how small, will directly support my journey and bring me closer to a brighter future. Your help is not just financial, it’s a symbol of hope and solidarity with Sudanese youth striving for a better tomorrow.

Obtaining this scholarship is a huge privilege, and I am humbled knowing that it is a dream shared by many Sudanese students during this devastating war that has deeply affected my generation.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me and for joining me on this journey. Whether through a donation or simply sharing my story, your support means the world to me.
