Hi, my name is Shanice, and I am a 29-year-old first-time mom to a beautiful little boy who is turning 2 soon. My husband and I are raising our son on our own, without the support of family nearby, doing our best to build a stable and loving home for him.
While navigating motherhood, I’ve also been facing a life-changing health challenge. I was diagnosed with a benign but active brain tumor and have already gone through four major surgeries. Each surgery has been physically and emotionally exhausting, but I continue to fight every day for my son and my family.
Now, my doctors are recommending that I start a new medication this coming May to help manage the tumor. Unfortunately, this treatment is very expensive, and my insurance is not enough to cover the full cost for the year. I also tried applying for govt assistance, but I was not eligible due to my temporary resident status. But good thing at the moment, I am waiting for the provincial assistance (ontario) that I applied for and while waiting for the process and approval, I still need to cover my other payables and daily needs, which has become very overwhelming for our family financially.
This is why I am reaching out for help. Any support—big or small—will go directly toward my medication and financial needs.
If you’re unable to donate, praying for me and sharing my story would mean so much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me continue—for myself, for my son, and for my family. God bless you all!
