Help A Father Walk Again After a Stroke
This picture you see on this post is my son and his daughter walking at the mall celebrating Father’s Day about two weeks before I received a call from my daughter-in-law telling me our dearest Miguel Andres, who is just in his mid-thirties, had suffered a serious stroke. My heart dropped, but not my faith, not my desire to go above and beyond for my children like always. This devastating event has changed everything for him, his wife, and especially their daughter, who is almost two years old and who is missing her father. I can only ask for help because my granddaughter is the one who is affected the most by her father’s stroke. She needs to have him back to hold her hand and walk beside her, to the park, to the mall, to school, to her big days as they deserve.
The stroke has left him with loss of mobility on his right side. He is now unable to walk, work, or care for himself without assistance. Miguel Andres is a devoted husband and a loving father. Before the stroke, he was strong and full of life. Now he faces a long, painful, and expensive road to recovery. He lives in Romania with his family, and the public healthcare there is limited. His only chance at walking again and regaining independence lies in private medical care, including specialized neurological physical therapy, medications covered only partially by public health insurance, adaptive equipment and mobility support, and in-home care support while he recovers. We are doing everything we can as a family: his father-in-law and I have joined efforts to provide the best care for our son, but the cost of private care in Romania is far beyond what we can manage, and his treatment may be long and expensive.
We are humbly asking for your help to raise money to cover his treatment and recovery needs. Your support, whether big or small, will go directly to ensuring he receives critical physical therapy, covering essential medications and care, helping him regain the ability to walk and move his right arm and hand to be there for his family, and most importantly to be there for his very young daughter.
Even if you cannot donate, we understand and ask you to please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who might be able to help. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, caring, and supporting us in this incredibly difficult time. We believe the strength Miguel Andres will receive from knowing there is a community behind him reaching out with every donation and most of all with prayers will lift his spirits and help him understand he is not alone in this battle. I once held his hand to guide his first steps, but this time I will not be able to do this alone. Let’s join this young father in the journey to recovery.
With deep gratitude,
Claudia
