Dear friends,
My name is Manny Dhillon.
A few months ago, I felt an unshakable ache in my heart as I watched the devastation unfold in Gaza. The pain, the helplessness, the silence; it became too heavy to bear. So I decided to act. I traveled to Egypt, uncertain of what I could do, but determined to find a way to help.
While I wasn’t able to cross into Gaza, the three weeks I spent in Egypt became a journey of deep connection. I met people whose lives had been torn apart, yet they still carried hope in their eyes. One of those people was Khalil, a humble, wounded soul whose story I now carry with me.
Khalil is a Palestinian survivor who has lived through years of unimaginable pain. Years ago, he was shot, leaving a metallic foreign object near his spine, causing long-term complications. He now suffers from severe degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritic changes in his hip and spine, which make daily life excruciating.
But that’s not the worst of it.
Khalil recently began experiencing intense chest pain. A coronary CT scan confirmed our fears:
He has a subtotal/total occlusion in one of his major heart arteries, along with a dangerous deep myocardial bridge. Without immediate surgical intervention, he is at grave risk of heart failure or death.
He is currently hospitalized in Cairo, struggling to breathe and survive each day.
But the surgery he urgently needs is beyond his financial means.
I have included his official medical reports and hospital photos to show the seriousness of his condition.
Khalil is in critical need of:
* Life-saving heart surgery
* Post-operative care
* Medications
* Continued treatment for his spinal injury
I am asking humbly, desperately, for your help. Not for myself, but for Khalil. For a man who welcomed me with warmth despite all he had suffered. For a human being whose life still matters, even if the world has turned its eyes away.
If you’ve ever wished you could do something, anything to help in the face of all the pain in the world, this is your chance.
Even the smallest contribution can become part of a miracle.
With love and gratitude,
Manny Dhillon
