Help a Marine Widow Repair Her Home
Donation protected

I would appreciate any amount that you can afford.
I’m the 73 year old widow of a highly decorated Marine, who fought in Vietnam and 3 years ago died a long agonizing death from agent orange. After taking care of my bedridden Vincent for 8 years, he passed. I live on a very small income. When my husband passed I couldn’t afford the house that we had bought only 4 months prior to his death so I bought a mobile home because it was not as expensive as an apartment. I worked so hard to make this house a home. When Milton hit, my neighbors house blew onto my roof and caused severe damage that has caused my ceiling in the living room to buckle and fall I do not have insurance because the house is too old, and don’t know how I’m going to replace a roof that had just been replaced 8 months ago. My emergency funds have dwindled down to nothing and I’m living in an unsafe environment. Unfortunately, I don’t have photos of the roof damage but I had someone go up the other day to try and patch up all the holes and slits as a temporary fix, in case it rains. The roof must be replaced by the end of the month because the struts have broken and my ceiling is falling down.I don’t have children and am living alone, here in Florida and in desperate need. I’m waiting to hear from FEMA. To date I don’t have any news. I am at a standstill and really need help. The funds will be used as a down payment to replace my roof and to put up a new ceiling in the living room and replace my downspouts that were crushed.
