Hello, my name is Abeba , I’m reaching out to you to help my family in Ethiopia during the most devastating time of our lives.

Yesterday, my uncle, Getachew, a devoted father, husband, and civil engineer, tragically died in a sudden accident at work. He fell from the 14th floor of a building, leaving his wife and four young children , my cousins ,without their father, guide, and sole provider. His death was instantaneous, shocking, and unimaginable. Our family is struggling to comprehend the loss of someone who was the foundation of their lives.

Getachew devoted his life to his family. After the conflict in Tigray left many families displaced, jobs lost, and women and children at risk, he lost his previous job in Mekele and had no choice but to move miles away to Addis Ababa to provide for his wife and children. Every day, he worked tirelessly so his children could attend school, be nourished, and feel safe.

He wasn’t just a father ,he was their superhero. He taught them chess, encouraged them to learn new languages, and instilled in them values of kindness, curiosity, and resilience. He celebrated their successes, guided them through challenges, and shared laughter and love that gave them stability and joy.

Now, his wife, who has always been the heart of the home, is suddenly alone, facing the impossible task of raising four children without any financial support. These children are bright, loving, and full of life ,curious, kind, and full of dreams ,but their world has been turned upside down.

They face urgent needs: school fees, food, clothing, rent, utilities, and medical care , all the things their father worked tirelessly to provide. Right now, your help can ensure they continue to feel safe, loved, and supported.
