Help A Vulnerable Adult Navigate Wrongful Eviction

Hi all.

This is Daz; some of you know me better as Katy or KabochaKitsune. You might know me from the Nexus Anime LARP circle, LJRP/DWRP, deviantART, AO3, Northern Garrett County High School, Goucher College, or as the youngest child of Richard and Linda T.

I've been fully disabled with fibromyalgia and chronic pain, bipolar and ADHD, and a listicle of other things; and out of work since November 1, 2017. [Redacted due to GFM terms; hereafter referred to as Thing 1] volunteered enthusiastically to be my legal caregiver, which includes assisting me with welfare programs, helping me manage my medication, driving me to appointments, helping with my hygiene, making me food, and helping pay for my food and medications.

I'm going to skim over the intervening drama, but [Thing 1 and Thing 2] are now kicking me out of my home.

I'm still fully disabled. [Thing 1] is still registered as my caregiver. Legally I am a permanent resident of our house because I am under [Thing 1]'s care. Telling [Thing 1 and Thing 2] this has not stopped them from preventing me from accessing the property I legally live in, filing specious charges, and otherwise Being Capitalist Landlords in ways that are too innumerable to fit in a GoFundMe and too exhausting to rehash.

With their behavior and treatment of me I frankly don't care to continue living in their company, but on July 1st they gave me an arbitrary deadline of September 5th by which to move out all of my things or they would "consider them abandoned." (I have not agreed to this.) Once again, I am severely physically disabled. I have been splitting my time since November 2024 between the home I share(d) with these ex-friends and my parents' home in Garrett County in concern of my (also very disabled) mother's health. [Thing 1 and Thing 2] did not bother to in any way accommodate me or ask me about whether this timeline worked for me in any way, nor inquire as to my previous engagements in the interim timeframe (of which medical appointments in particular are numerous). They simply refused to agree to any compromise to give me more time to move out. I've had to apply for legal aid from a volunteer association, because I have no income.

I did have a tiny income of roughly $350 a month and some food stamps, but [Thing 1] did not alert me to mail received at our shared home from the Department of Human Services during some of the time I was spending helping my disabled mother, and now I have missed redetermination deadlines and lost all income.

So. Here we are. I have to figure out how to get all of my things out of that house and move them a significant distance to a new home on basically no notice, with no ability to carry more than ten to twenty pounds (not very far, and only once or twice), in Baltimore summer heat (while my fibromyalgia and multiple of my medications put me at risk of heat sickness, tachycardia, and/or fainting in as little as ten minutes in weather above even seventy degrees depending on humidity and UV index), with no income, while having to fight in court to get acknowledgement of my basic human rights, while most of my friends in the area also have disabilities or prior engagements or no income or even a sudden loss of income or several of the above. To make matters worse, I had a serious fall on the 9th of August that makes it difficult for me to sit or stand. I had hoped I would heal on my own, but I may have to go to urgent care or a hospital for pelvic and spinal x-rays and who knows what else.

The amount of the GFM probably looks a little crazy, but I have to factor in the cost to rent and have moved a portable storage unit such as a PODS, monthly rent on said unit while I fill it at my legal home and then while I empty it at my new home, doubtless some professional mover assistance because I have heavy furniture in the basement (where my bedroom area is due to my heat sensitivity) that will need to be carried up a flight of steep stairs, packing materials, and new disability assistance / quality of life / durable medical equipment devices to assist me at my new home. Anything raised beyond these needed costs will go toward medications, supplements, food, etc. while I reapply for welfare, and potentially toward a wheelchair as my steadiness on my feet is declining and I'm fairly certain I am now a permanent fall risk.

I realize this is fairly long, but this is truly the cliff's notes of my situation. Thank you for reading. Please spread this link around as much as you can; I have such a high total to raise and so little time in which to do it.

I love all of you in my support network so deeply. If you're finding this by repost or otherwise and don't know me, thank you for even reading this far. And I hope that you understand what I mean when I tell you that even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you; I love you. With all my heart, I love you.
