Back in May 2020 I was diagnose with kidney cancer, 4 months later my left kidney was removed. For the next 4 years I was cancer free, then in February 2024 I had a large growth in the back of my throat, a biopsy confirmed cancer. The treatment was 25 sessions of radiation an 14 day days of chemo. All was successful, cancer free to this day.
At the end of 2025 I developed extreme lower jaw pain, it has been diagnosed as "OSTEO RADIO NECROSIS". Okay for everyone like me, what he h*** does that mean. Well it turns out the "RADIATION" damaged my lower jaw "mandible", causing of my right gum bone death and the lost of 45% of my gum.
The only treatment I was offered was "Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments".
My insurance, and medicare has a $550.00 co-payment per treatment, I have 30 treatments.
My background: just your average 68 year old male, still working 3 days a week to support my wife and me.
Volunteer firefighter for my local Fire Department (Lake Mohave Ranchos)
Active with the community.
Anyway, that is my story.
Any help will be appreciated.
