Hey friends, I’m reaching out with something really hard that happened to my husband’s family. Last week, my father-in-law, Tom, mother-in-law, Mimi, and sister-in-law, Sarah’s home of twenty years caught fire. It’s the house that has held three generations of memories, parents, kids, and grandkids, all under one roof at different times. Overnight, everything was damaged by smoke and the water used to put out the flames. They lost clothes, childhood keepsakes, family photos, and all the little things that made their house feel warm and lived in.

They are now staying together in a hotel, trying to make the best of the holidays while figuring out what comes next. It’s supposed to be a season of comfort, but instead they are trying to stay hopeful while starting completely from scratch.

This fundraiser is for my mother-in-law, my father-in-law, who is a disabled and retired veteran, and my sister-in-law and her three boys. Her oldest son, who is about to graduate high school, lost all of his belongings. Her middle son, who is autistic, is really struggling because the routine and familiar environment he depends on is suddenly gone. And her youngest, just two years old, does not understand why home is now a hotel room.

They are safe, and we are so grateful for that, but they have nothing left to rebuild with.

We are hoping to raise funds to help them replace essential items, cover temporary housing, and begin the long process of piecing their life back together after losing the home they loved for so long. Truly, any amount helps and will go directly toward getting them back on their feet.

If you cannot donate, sharing the link means more than you know. Every bit of support helps carry them through this.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your compassion, and your love during such an emotional time.
