Help a Veteran's Family Rebuild After Tornado Devastation

On May 16th, just before midnight, a destructive tornado ripped through my children’s childhood home on Miller Lane in London, KY. It has displaced my 2 children, their mother, their mamaw, papaw, and their cousin, who all lived in the home. My son Tyler is currently deployed in Iraq and now doesn’t have a home to come back to. My daughter Breanna and the rest of the family barely made it out in time before the tornado hit. Thanks to the quick action of my children’s stepdad, Dustin Schorpp, they all made it out safely and with their lives. Many more weren’t so fortunate. I owe him the utmost gratitude and thanks.

Although I did have insurance on the home, this will take months of rehabilitation of the property and the area to rebuild, to get it even close to where it was. I know the insurance will not be enough to cover the full cost of rebuilding and will fall extremely short in covering those keepsakes, pictures, and most of all the memories there. I will be adding an addition to the house of a basement, in case the future holds a similar fate for the area and for the protection of my precious children.

I am asking you to donate any amount you feel comfortable with. All donations will be used for new clothes, food, water, temporary housing, gas, transportation and to help cover whatever insurance will not for rebuild. I have never asked for help with anything in my life and neither has my family. I have served my community and my country and so has my family for their entire lives, sacrificing endlessly their time and patience. I am a Veteran, a Deputy Sheriff, but most importantly, I am a dad and my family, as many others, did NOT deserve this devastation. Please help my family make new memories, that will last a lifetime. We will make it through this, but we want our home and our community to come back better and stronger than ever, but we can only do this together!
