Hi, my name is Cari, and I'm a US. Air Force veteran, a single mom, and someone who has always worked hard to provide a better life for my son.

Over the last year, life has hit us with a storm of hardship. I've been unable to work due to ongoing medical issues (tumors on spine, severe bi-lateral spinal stenosis) and debilitating and crippling nerve pain that feels like torture. I find myself unable to move, frozen as pain spasms take over my lower body.

I've filed for both VA and Social Security disability, but the process is long and uncertain. In the meantime, our finances have been stretched to the breaking point.

My son, who is now in college, and I have done everything we can to stay afloat - including using a portion of his college scholarship funds and all our savings to cover our mortgage.

We are a faith-filled family - my son graduated from Jesuit High School, and our values have always been rooted in the belief that God will provide a way. We're in a place where we can't do this alone.

I'm raising funds to help cover urgent basic living expenses, ongoing medical costs and possible surgery, and continue to have a roof over our heads while we navigate through this time. This campaign is about survival. Being out of work due to medical issues, and now at risk of losing our home - your support gives us a lifeline.
